Founder - Casson Mann
Roger founded Casson Mann in 1984 with partner Dinah Casson and, over the past thirty years, the company has evolved to become one of Europe’s foremost experiential design agencies. Since the mid-90s, while continuing to take on workplace and hospitality interior design projects, Casson Mann has specialised in interpretative design for museums, exhibitions and cultural attractions, which gives the practice a unique approach to commercial design. As Creative Director, Roger takes a rigorous interest in all projects that pass through the studio. He leads and directs creative workshops and it is his design vision that sets the standard for all projects.
As an interior designer, I am passionate about creating meticulously detailed, dramatically-lit, beautiful spaces; about orchestrating all aspects of a complex interior – materiality, form, light, colour, sound, media, movement – into one holistic vision. To me, design excellence is achieved in those environments which stimulate a heightened sense of spatial and sensory awareness in the user, prompting people to behave differently. In a museum we want people to feel inspired, to engage, to learn and to have fun. In a restaurant or bar, we want people to dwell, open up, feel comfortable, satiated and to enjoy themselves more.
